DISPENSING OPTIONS:

NOTE: Selten Wine provides this list of general dispensing options that we’ve tested as general information to customers and receives no compensation of any kind for information listed on these DISPENSING OPTIONS. This is our honest assessment following many years of testing.

Every customer should carefully consider power requirements of options and the through-put volume dispensed (especially during peak demand) prior to investing in any option:

Equipment NeededPROSCONSElectrical notes: (this is informational and should be double checked with the equipment manufacturer documentation).
Good (for single cups)

COST: $

Heating: Microwave
Connector: K Coupler

Dispense: Party Keg Tap (or other tap system)
-Ideal for infrequent single cup selling
-Most affordable point-of-entry
-Fewest number of equipment items to order.
-Heat settings very limited, recommend using a food thermometer to determine the rate your microwave & type of mug serving in heats the wine. Ideal temp is 170F (wine could scorch if wine left in microwave too long)
-Not recommended as a high volume solution.
Better (for smaller volume)

COST: $$

Heating: Electric Kettle/Coffee Urn/Pot on Stovetop
Connector: K Coupler

Dispense: Party Keg Tap (or other tap system)
-Less Expensive than “Best” options
-Heat larger volumes of wine at a time, allowing for more repeat pours, as long as wine is to the serving temp.
Attention: Some modern kettles have a temperature dial to allow for better control of heating element, while others have only two settings (on high or off).
-Heating speed depends on temperature of liquid and room.
-Some kettles have adjustable temperature controls while others are on/off only.
-Waste: wine heated too long or end-of-night, warm wine that cannot be used again, needs to be discarded
-Regularly mixing is recommended to prevent scorching, but removing lid releases steam
-Many units require access to higher power need (example: German mulled kettle needs 2000W power supply)
Best (for highest efficiency – indoor)

COST: $$$

Heating:
Kegco / Beverage Factory Hot Tap

Kegco Hot Tap

This option utilizes a just-in-time heating system with integrated dispensing Hot Tap

*Selten Wine recommends this option in most use cases, because the unit serving temperature is most accurate to ideal drinking temp, the least amount of serving waste with on-demand heating, fastest time from off-to-serve, smallest unit size and quietest operation.
Connector: K Coupler

Dispense: Requires gas/air pressure for the machine to heat/dispense.

Nitro infuser (optional): Can be added between keg and hot tap. Increasing the nitro to the wine will increase the smoothness feel.
-On-demand heating of wine of a single hot tap.
-Starting warm-up time between unit powering on and first cup: < 2 minutes.
-Serving temperatures between 120F-180F
-Counter top model is small and much quieter than outdoor unit.
-Electronics track volume poured
-Significantly reduces waste with nearly all wine heated being dispensed
-Has options for additional cold tap lines (could serve beer, etc. out of cold lines of tap)
-On-demand heating can be sometimes slow as it’s making the ideal cup. (If pouring back to back cups the system is much quicker.)
[See Video]
-Requires 220V 20A power per machine.
Best (for highest efficiency – outdoor)

COST: $$$$$

Heating: (Outdoor) Gourmet Dispensing Tap

Gourmet Dispensing

This option uses a high capacity dispensing & heating unit made for outdoors/stadiums.
Connector: K Coupler

Dispense: Requires gas/air pressure for the machine to heat/dispense.

Nitro infuser (optional): Can add between keg and hot tap.
-Beverage lines indirectly heated as they go through heated water, prevents scorching or overcooking
-Single or Double tap setup
-Warming temperatures between 160F-180F
-On/Off switch with temp dial, no other gauges.
-Larger/heavier unit that runs loudest of options (not recommended in small spaces)
-Starting warm-up time to heat water reservoir, depending on water and room temps, 30-45 minutes.
-Most expensive unit available.
-Requires 110/120V 20 Amp power (for D100 unit) or requires 208/220V 30 Amp power (for D200/D300 unit)
